Little Naturalist Program - Tuesdays July 8-29 at 10 a.m.
- Ideal for ages 3-5. Offered in partnership with Sandwich Partnership for Families.
Exploring Oceanography Program – July 22-24.

July 9th - Wet Fest
- Cape Cod’s Educational Water Festival Program with AmeriCorps Cape Cod! A fun and interactive way to learn all about the fundamentals of water and Cape Cod’s sole source aquifer. Best for ages 6+
July 16th – Pollinator Partnership
- Explore the activity in our pollinator garden and discover partnerships taking place with hands on activities. Best for ages 6-11.
July 23rd – Sagamore Hill Hike
- Learn about the local history, geology and ecology of the area. Explore approximately 1.5 miles of wooded hillside, including some remains from a former World War II Military installation. Meet at the Sagamore Hill trailhead sign. Located at Scusset Beach State Reservation, across from the Fish Pier parking. All Ages.
July 30th – What Floats Your Boat?
- Ever wonder how those big ships in the Canal can float and not sink? Is it their shape, what they’re made of or maybe the water itself? Join us for hands-on activities, and design & test boats to find out. Best for ages 6-11.
Whales, Octopi and Sharks, Oh My! – Aug 6 at 6 p.m.
- A musical dive into sea science presented by Jackson Gillman. This presentation is made possible through the generous support of the Sandwich Cultural Council. Click here for flyer.
Family Fishing Clinic – Saturday, Aug 9 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
- Hosted by MA Division of Marine Fisheries. Join us for a fun opportunity for some hands-on saltwater fishing experience. Equipment provided for youth under 16 years old. Want to become a Cape Cod Canal Junior Ranger? Complete our Junior Ranger Booklet AND visit the Cape Cod Canal Visitor Center. And you will earn a Junior Ranger badge and certificate! Click here to download a copy of the booklet if you want to get started before your visit. Note: you’ll find that a few of the pages have to be completed at the Visitor Center.
