Upcoming Events and Programs

  • July 21-23, 2026: Exploring Oceanography.

     Youth ages 12-15 are invited to join us for this free, 3-day, hands-on science program. For more information and to register click here for the event flyer.

  • Tuesdays at 10am from July 14-Aug 11: Little Naturalist

    Families with children ages 3-5 are welcomed to join us at the Cape Cod Canal Visitor Center for our Little Naturalist program. In partnership with Sandwich Partnership for Families, we'll enjoy stories, activities, crafts and games exploring new themes each week. Weather permitting sessions will be held outside the Visitor Center. For more information click here for the event flyer.

  • Wednesdays at 10am from July 15-Aug 12: Canal Kids

    Families with children ages 6-11 are welcomed to join us at the Cape Cod Canal Visitor Center for our Canal Kids program. Explore different weekly themes alongside a Park Ranger with hands-on activities and games. Join us for 3 or more Canal Kids programs + complete a Visitor Center Scavenger hunt to earn a Junior Ranger patch and certificate. Weather permitting sessions will be held outside the Visitor Center. For more information click here for the event flyer.

Ongoing Activities and Programs

Want to become a Cape Cod Canal Junior Ranger? If you complete our Junior Ranger Booklet AND visit the Cape Cod Canal Visitor Center, you will earn a Junior Ranger badge and certificate! Click here to download a copy of the booklet if you want to get started before your visit. Note: you’ll find that a few of the pages have to be completed at the Visitor Center.

Water Safety: Visit http://www.bobber.info for water safety themed activities, coloring sheets and cartoons.

 

Free Park Ranger led programs about the Canal’s history and operations are available to community groups and schools upon request. Contact Samantha.a.gray@usace.army.mil or 978-318-8622 to request a program.
