Corps of Engineers awards contract for refurbishing gate hoist operator assemblies at Littleville Lake dam

CONCORD, Mass. Refurbishing of four limitorque gate hoist operator assemblies at Littleville Lake dam in Huntington, Mass., will be completed under the terms of a $145,200.00 contract recently awarded by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District.

 

Work will be accomplished by Chas G. Allen, Inc. of Barre, Mass. The contract was awarded on Sept. 26, 2016. Once a notice to proceed is issued the work will be authorized to start. The contract period of performance is 120 days.

 

Work at Littleville Dam involves refurbishing four limitorque gate hoist operator assemblies of the Littleville Lake project flood reduction gatehouse building and water supply intake tower. The contractor will furnish all labor, materials and equipment necessary to refurbish four limitorque gate hoist operator assemblies, including electrical components, gearing, and all external surfaces (to include floor stand).

 

The project will be managed by the Corps of Engineers under the supervision of a Corps’ Quality Assurance Representative to assure compliance with contract requirements.

 

The Littleville Lake project area offers picnicking, fishing, hunting, canoeing, boating, nature study and cross country skiing and snowmobiling (on marked trails) in season, and attracts more than 39,000 visitors annually.
