CONCORD, Mass. – Construction of a new research and development storage facility at the U.S. Army Soldier Systems Center in Natick, Mass., will be completed under the terms of a $1,788,869.00 contract recently awarded by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District.
Work will be accomplished by New England Specialty Services, Inc., of Fall River, Mass. The contract was awarded on Sept. 26, 2015.
The work of this project consists of new construction of a 5,000-square-foot, pre-engineered research and development storage facility (warehouse). The new warehouse will be used for the storage of general, non-hazardous and non-flammable goods. The primary access into the building will be via two overhead doors. One is located along the front (southerly side), and one is located on the east side. Additionally, there will be two-man doors on the east side, and the rear (north) side.
The warehouse will be divided into two primary areas by a chain link fence to be installed in the interior. There also will be a smaller caged area, with chain link fence on three sides and a ceiling. Interior rooms are the fire pump room and an electrical room.
Work requirements will be managed by the Corps of Engineers under the supervision of a Corps’ Quality Assurance Representative to assure compliance with contract requirements.
