Work to start on or about Oct. 15: Corps awards $139,500 contract for electric, control rehabilitation of Woonsocket Falls Dam in Woonsocket

CONCORD, Mass. The electric and control system of the Woonsocket Falls Dam in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, will be rehabilitated under the terms of a $139,500.00 contract recently awarded by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District.

 

Work will be accomplished by Comp Environmental, Inc., of Durham, N.C.  The contract was awarded on Sept. 12, 2014. Construction is scheduled to start on or about Oct. 15, 2014 and take approximately 2 months to complete after the contractor receives the notice to proceed.

 

Work consists of furnishing all equipment, materials and labor for the Woonsocket Falls Dam electric and control rehabilitation for the purpose of facility maintenance.

 

The project will be managed by the Corps of Engineers and all work will be accomplished under the supervision of a Corps’ Quality Assurance Representative to assure compliance with contract requirements.
