Corps awards $1.1 million contract to replace HVAC and chiller in CRREL’s main lab building in Hanover

CONCORD, Mass. HVAC and chiller replacement in the main lab building of the Cold Regions Research and Engineering Laboratory (CRREL) will be completed under the terms of a $1,129,608.51 contract recently awarded by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District.

 

Work will be accomplished by Smart Assistive Technologies, LLC, of Rochester, N.H. The contract was awarded on Sept. 13, 2013.

 

CRREL needs the replacement of the HVAC system for the SCIF, which includes removal and demolition of the existing system and necessary mechanical elements for the new system to function. CRREL also requires the installation of insulation in the ICE Lab Building and also on piping associated with the Main Lab’s chiller. Work also requires removal, demolition and replacement of the Main Lab Building’s chiller, along with all ancillary work.

 

The project will be managed by the Corps of Engineers and all work will be accomplished under the supervision of a Corps of Engineers’ Quality Assurance Representative to assure compliance with contract requirements.
