Town River Bay is located in Quincy, about five miles north of Braintree and ten miles southwest of Boston.
Storms, high tides and vessel wakes have caused serious erosion problems along the existing shorefront embankment. In order to protect a subsidized housing structure from sliding into the bay, the Corps constructed a stone revetment approximately 280 feet long and 15 feet high at a cost of $25,000.
The project was built under Section 14, Emergency Streambank and Shoreline Protection, of the Continuing Authorities Program.
