Oak Bluffs Town Beach is located in Oak Bluffs on the eastern shore of Martha’s Vineyard, about 800 feet south of the ferry landing.
The project involved widening 1,200 feet of beach to 150 - 200 feet by the direct placement of sand, and constructing a 530-footlong groin at the southern end of the beach.
Oak Bluffs Town Beach was constructed under Section 103 of the Continuing Authorities Program. It was built between May October 1973 at a cost of $472,000.
