Work scheduled to start in October: Corps awards $1 million contract for maintenance work on the Union Village Dam in Thetford, Vermont

CONCORD, Mass. Maintenance work on the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers-managed Union Village Dam in Thetford, Vermont, will be completed under the terms of a $1,059,654.00 contract awarded recently by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District.

 

Work will be accomplished by Classic Site Solutions, Inc., of Springfield, Mass. Work is scheduled to start in October 2012 and take approximately 90 days to complete. The contract was awarded on Sept. 4, 2012.  

 

The work under this contract consists of the removal of existing toe drain piping, drainage piping, and one drainage manhole structure, and associated earthwork, and the installation of new toe drain piping, new drainage piping, and manholes and an outlet structure and associated earthwork.

 

Union Village Dam, off of Main Street via State Highway 132, is a dry-bed reservoir project on the Ompompanoosuc River in Thetford.

 

The project will be managed by the Corps of Engineers and all work will be accomplished under the supervision of a Corps of Engineers’ Quality Assurance Representative to assure compliance with contract requirements.
