Work scheduled to start in fall 2012: Corps of Engineers awards $2.7 million contract for installation, upgrades to systems at Westover ARB

CONCORD, Mass. Installation of and upgrades to the mass notification systems in multiple buildings at the Westover Air Reserve Base in Chicopee, Mass., will be completed under the terms of a $2,793,745.00 contract awarded recently by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District.

 

Work will be accomplished by Annese Electrical Service, Inc., of Weymouth, Mass. Work is scheduled to start in the fall of 2012 and be completed by December 2013. The contract was awarded on Sept. 26, 2012.  

The Air Reserve Base is providing a new complete mass notification system (MNS), upgrades and modifications to existing central control mass notification systems, modifications to existing fire alarm control panels, along with upgrades to existing central control station to receive, monitor, and control individual building MNS. The contractor will provide all programming and software as required. Systems will be provided in accordance with all state and local codes and upon completion of work will be tested in accordance with the specification for final acceptance.

 

The project will be managed by the Corps and all work will be accomplished under the supervision of a Corps’ Quality Assurance Representative to assure compliance with contract requirements.
