CONCORD, Mass. – Saint Albans Bay Marina, LLC is seeking a permit from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District to impact waters of the U.S. in conjunction with building a new docking facility in Lake Champlain in St. Albans, Vermont.
The purpose of the proposed project is to provide recreational boating access to Lake Champlain at a new commercial marina. The applicant is proposing to place and maintain a new commercial and recreational docking facility in Lake Champlain. The work is proposed in St. Albans Bay at 90 Georgia Shore Road in St. Albans.
The proposed work involves: placing and maintaining a 656.5-foot long, 8-foot wide floating main dock with a 334-foot long, 10-foot wide floating wave attenuator at the lakeward end, extending a maximum of 767.5-feet beyond ordinary high water (OHW).
The main dock will be accessed by a 50-foot long, 8-foot wide pile-supported walkway and an 80-foot long, 8-foot wide gangway. The walkway will be supported with 12, 12-inch diameter steel and concrete piles. The entire system will be anchored with 68, 6-foot by 6-foot by 1-foot concrete blocks and 17, 8-foot by 8-foot by 2-foot concrete blocks.

The application for the federal permit was filed with the Corps of Engineers in compliance with Section 10 of the Rivers and Harbors Act, which provides for federal regulation of any work in, or affecting navigable waters of the U.S.
