This project consists of the construction of about a 1,000‐foot‐long rock revetment and walkway along the shoreline of Hingham Bay (Weymouth Fore River).

10 Day Notice - Interested parties are hereby notified that the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District (USACE) is evaluating plans pursuant to r 33 U.S.C. 408 (Section 408) to allow the city of Ansonia to construct the Ansonia River Walk Project, Segments 3 & 4 in Ansonia, Connecticut. The proposed project consists of the construction of a multi-use, bituminous concrete, pedestrian path along the Naugatuck River in Ansonia, CT. The River Walk will be located on the crest of the Naugatuck River Left Bank and Beaver Brook River Right Bank Flood Damage Reduction System (FDR System), owned and operated by the city of Ansonia. The path will use the existing access ramps (No. 1 and No.2) to reach the levee crest. The proposed River Walk is approximately 2,500 feet in length beginning at the Target store driveway on Main Street and continuing south to an entrance on Main Street. |

The work is being implemented under the Section 14 Emergency Shoreline Protection program. The Pleasant Point Reservation is home to members of the federally recognized Passamaquoddy Tribe. The draft Environmental Assessment (EA) was prepared in compliance with Council on Environmental Quality (40 Code of Federal Regulations [CFR] 1500 to 1508) and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers regulations for implementing the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) (33 CPR 230).
