Beneficial Use of Dredged Material

Project Info

The dredging of shipping channels, harbors, and waterways produces large quantities of valuable sediment. Most of this dredged material is clean and suitable for beneficial uses such as beach nourishment, shore protection, wetland restoration, habitat enhancement, and many other applications. The New England District is committed to maximizing the beneficial use of the dredged material generated through its mission to keep the waterways of New England navigable.
