New England – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District, announces that Thomaston Dam, Northfield Brook Lake and Black Rock Lake (Thomaston, CT) recreation areas are closed for the 2016 recreation season. While areas are closed to vehicles, walk-ins are welcome during daylight hours. In the off-season, the top of Thomaston and Black Rock Dams will be open until 3:00 pm weekdays only. Visitors should be cognizant of parking restrictions along public roadways and project access gates, as applicable. The parks will re-open to vehicle traffic for the 2017 recreation season the weekend before the Memorial Day holiday weekend.
