CONCORD, Mass – Construction activities continue on Phase 1 of the $30.9 million Muddy River Flood Risk Management and Environmental Restoration project in Boston, Massachusetts. On Monday, May 9, a portion of the Brookline Avenue southside pedestrian sidewalk, between Park Drive and Fenway, will be closed temporarily in order to construct the end condition concrete sidewalk. Pedestrian traffic will be redirected with advanced signage to closest available crosswalk and sidewalk to continue through this temporary closure. The expected duration of this sidewalk closure and construction is three weeks before the sidewalk can be opened up to permanent use.

This closure is necessary in order to remove the temporary asphalt sidewalk, install formwork and reinforcement, and place concrete for the permanent concrete sidewalk. We will do all we can to minimize impacts to the public during these activities.
