Concord, Mass. -- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District received a permit application to conduct work in waters of the United States from Malletts Bay Boat Club for proposed work in Lake Champlain’s Malletts Bay off West Lakeshore Drive in Colchester, Vermont.
The proposed work involves the expansion and retention of an existing docking and mooring facility at an existing commercial marina in Malletts Bay. The purpose of the project is to provide recreational boating access to Lake Champlain. The applicant does not propose any compensatory mitigation because there would be no permanent loss of waters of the U.S.
USACE is soliciting comments from members of the public; federal, state and local agencies; American Indian Tribes; and other interested parties to consider and evaluate the impacts of this proposed activity. The public notice with more detailed information is available for review on the District website at https://www.nae.usace.army.mil/Missions/PublicNotices, file # NAE-2021- 00313.
