Town of Yarmouth seeks USACE permit for proposed long-term maintenance dredging work in six channels

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District received a permit application to conduct work in waters of the United States from the Town of Yarmouth for proposed work in the Bass River, Parkers River, Lewis Bay and Nantucket Sound in Yarmouth, Mass.

The proposed work involves a comprehensive plan for long-term maintenance dredging of historically sandy portions of six channels within Lewis Bay, Parkers River and the Bass River. Suitable sandy material from these areas will be used to nourish beaches in the vicinity of each project.

USACE is soliciting comments from members of the public; federal, state and local agencies; American Indian Tribes; and other interested parties to consider and evaluate the impacts of this proposed activity.
