Town of West Hartford seeks permit for proposed work on bridge over West Branch Trout Brook

 The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District received a permit application to conduct work in waters of the United States from the Town of West Hartford for proposed work over the West Branch Trout Brook in West Hartford, Connecticut.

The proposed work involves the replacement of Bridge No. 04081, commonly referred to as the Fern Street Bridge, with prestressed concrete box beams along with channel realignment and reconstruction using block walls along the east bank of the brook and rounded riprap with live
stakes along the west bank. Natural habitat features have been incorporated in the proposed design to provide improvements in the functions and values of the water resources.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is soliciting comments from members of the public; federal, state and local agencies; Indian Tribes; and other interested parties to consider and evaluate the impacts of this proposed activity. The comment period opens June 15, 2021.
