USACE, New England District
Published March 23, 2021

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District announced today an upcoming temporary road closure on Netherlands Road as dredging activities continue to progress on Phase 2 of the $36.5 million Muddy River Flood Risk Management project in Boston and
Brookline, Massachusetts.

A temporary road closure will take place March 26, 2021, on Netherlands Road as equipment and materials are moved to project Work Area #4 from Work Area #3. Both work areas are in the vicinity of Riverway and Netherlands Road (near the Brookline DPW building). Appropriate signage will be placed on the outbound side at Riverway and on Netherlands Road. The temporary road closure will take place between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Dredging will begin in Work Area #4 in late March and be complete in early April.

State Police and Brookline Police details will be on-site to safely guide traffic around the vehicles off-loading the equipment and materials. Access to the Brookline DPW building will be maintained during this road closure.
