MIDDLEBURY, Conn. -- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers flood control and recreation area at Hop Brook Lake which was closed on August 4, 2020 in preparation of Tropical Storm Isaias will remain closed until further notice as result of high wind damage from the storm.
Please be aware at this time the Off Season Parking Lot is the only lot that remains open and has the potential to be closed pending inspections.
The recreation area has received wide spread tree damage, all facilities including restrooms will remain closed until further notice as to allow the Corps to perform cleanup and maintenance checks to ensure visitor safety.
The recreation area will be reopened after inspections, major cleanup is completed by Corps personnel and areas are made safe for public use, pending damages.
Visitors who walk-in or biking into portions of the recreation areas and trails are advised to use extra caution due to numerous downed trees and hanging limbs. Please obey cautioned or blocked off areas.
