CONCORD, Mass. – Recreation Area Improvements to the Cape Cod Canal in Bourne, Massachusetts, will be completed under the terms of a $124,459.00 contract recently issued by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District.
Work will be accomplished by Vedant Construction, Inc., of Dracut, Massachusetts. A notice to proceed has been issued by the Corps of Engineers and construction is underway. The contract was awarded on June 20, 2019.
The work consists of all labor, equipment and materials to complete site improvement work at the Herring Run Recreation Area. Work in area A will include installing a new concrete walkway and removing two existing park benches and one concrete pad, six picnic tables and one waste receptacle. It will include installing one new park bench, one waste receptacle, six picnic tables, and one bicycle rack with a new concrete pad.
Work in area B will include removing nine existing park benches, seven picnic tables, and one waste receptacle. It will include installing nine new park benches, seven new picnic tables and one waste receptacle. Work in area C will include removing four existing park benches, five picnic tables, and four waste receptacles. It will include installing five new park benches, one new concrete pad, five new picnic tables, and four new waste receptacles.
The project will be managed by the Corps of Engineers and all work will be accomplished under the supervision of a Corps’ Quality Assurance Representative to assure compliance with contract requirements.
