Night work on Bourne Bridge this week

Published July 30, 2019

CONCORD, Mass. On Tuesday night, July 30, 2019 beginning at 9 p.m. the Cape Cod Canal’s Bourne Bridge will have one travel lane restriction to complete repair work on the bridge. The nighttime one lane restriction will also be in place on Wednesday night, July 31 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. (the following morning) and on Thursday night, August 1 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. (the following morning). Three of the travel lanes on the Bourne Bridge will be open to traffic at all times.

Additionally, the sidewalk will be closed for repairs on all three nights from 9 p.m. to 9 a.m. (the following morning). Pedestrians are advised to seek alternate transportation during that period.

All travel lanes will be open each day outside of the work shifts occurring at night.

The Corps of Engineers team thanks the Cape Cod and region commuting public for their understanding and patience during the execution of these necessary bridge repair activities and lane closures. The bridge repair work is critical to maintaining the structural integrity of the bridges, which are a vital component to the transportation system of Cape Cod, the Islands and southeastern Massachusetts.
