BREAKWATER REPAIR AND MAINTENANCE ISLES OF SHOALS HARBOR OF REFUGE FEDERAL NAVIGATION PROJECT RYE, NH & KITTERY, ME

Interested parties are hereby notified that the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), New England District, plans to perform work in the navigable waters of this District, subject to the
provisions of Section 404 of the Clean Water Act of 1977 (P.L. 95-217) and subject to the requirements of the National Environmental Policy Act (P.L. 91-190). The work involves the maintenance and repair of three breakwater structures located on the Isles of Shoals (Star Island, Cedar Island, Smuttynose Island, and Malaga Island) in Rye, New Hampshire and Kittery, Maine. The project is authorized by acts of 3 March 1821, 7 May 1822, and the River and Harbor Acts of 13 June 1902 and 25 June 1910. Attachment No. 1 lists pertinent laws, regulations, and directives.
