Atlantic Clam Farms of Greenwich, CT has submitted a permit application to conduct work in the waters of Long Island Sound (Payea Reach) approximately 3400 feet southeast of Great Captains Island. The project involves the installation of lines, buoys, anchors and aids to navigation for the commercial cultivation of a winter crop of native sugar kelp (Saccarina lattissima).
