The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District (USACE) has completed the Supplemental Environmental Assessment (SEA) for the Connecticut River Hydrilla Control Research and Demonstration Project in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969, as amended. The draft SEA was made available for public review through a 30-day public comment period, from June 11, 2025, to July 13, 2025. All comments received during the public comment period were responded to in Appendix H of the final SEA. In addition, the SEA was coordinated with federal and state agencies, and tribes. USACE initiated consultations with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, National Marine Fisheries Service, State Historic Preservation Office, and the Tribes. Appendix A of the final SEA includes correspondence for coordination and consultations. USACE, New England District Commander signed the FONSI on June 11, 2026. A copy of the signed FONSI can be found in the final SEA.
