USACE to revise Littleville Lake and Knightville Dam Master Plan, open comments

CENAE
Published Feb. 11, 2026

CONCORD, Mass. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) is initiating the revision process for the Master Plan (MP) at Littleville Lake and Knightville Dam in the Lower Connecticut River Basin. The Master Plan is defined as the strategic land use management document that guides the comprehensive management and development of all recreational, natural, and cultural resources throughout the life of the water resource development project. It defines "how" USACE will manage the resources for public use and conservation.

USACE master plans are comprehensive land and recreation management plans with an effective life of approximately 25 years. The current 1976 Knightville Dam and 1966 Littleville Lake master plans need revision to address changes in regional land use, population, outdoor recreation trends, and USACE management policy. Key topics to be discussed in the revised master plans include revised land use classifications, new natural and recreational resource management objectives, recreation facility needs, and special issues. Revised master plans will not address the technical and operational aspects of the projects related to flood risk management or the water conservation missions of the projects.

Initial scoping materials, including a copy of the open house presentation, current master plans, and land classification maps can be accessed at:

The public scoping begins on February 25, 2026, and the 30- day comment period is February 25 through March 27, 2026.
USACE requests that you review the project information provided and submit any written comments by March 27, 2026. Written comments can be submitted to myself or to CENAE-KnightV-LittleV-Master@usace.army.mil.
