NAE Dredging/Marine Construction Industry Day

Date: Thursday, March 10, 2022
Time: 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

This event is open to all businesses, both small and large, interested in working with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers New England District. The morning is full of presentations by our staff describing our internal process of getting projects to solicitation followed by Q&A sessions. You will learn about our key decision points and cost and schedule drivers (ex. Dredge material quality, protected environmental resources, disposal location selection). You will learn how and why we impose restrictions on the work such as environmental work windows and equipment limitation. We will have a special guest from National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration discussing their role in our environmental coordination process. The afternoon sessions will focus on our solicitation, contract award and construction oversight. You will learn why market research and industry communication prior to solicitation is an important time for use to engage with you (ex. draft solicitations, source sought). We will present out 5 year plan for contract actions and take a deeper dive into projects anticipated for award this and next year. Our goal is to have meaningful discussions on how to improve our designs, plans and specifications, solicitation and construction processes to ultimately cost effective delivery of quality projects that serve an important role for the public.

Registration for the 2022 USACE Dredging and Marine Construction Industry Day is required for all attendees and can be made through the online invitation link below. In-person participation is encouraged but we have limited space which we will fill on a first come first serve basis based on registration submittal receipt. Visitors may be required to attest that they are fully vaccinated or have proof of a negative test within 72 hours prior to the event.

  • Indoor mask-wearing is NOT required

  • Attendance may be denied if you chose not to respond, have not been vaccinated and cannot produce evidence of a recent negative COVID-19 test.
  • We will not be providing refreshments.
  • Vending machines are available for your use but the selection is limited.
  • The beverage machine does not have bottled water due to Town restrictions. There is a water fountain available to fill your personal container.
  • We will break for lunch but there are no food service providers within a short distance of the building. We recommend packing a lunch.
