Description

They have a whitish breast, no wing bars, and lack a black bordered eyebrow (like the red-eyed vireo). Other than that, they look very similar to the red-eyed vireo.

Voice

A rambling, up and down If I sees you, I will seize you, and I’ll squeeze you till you squirt.

Habitat

They can be found in deciduous and mixed woods, poplars, aspens, and shade trees. They are usually near water.

Diet

Warbling vireos eat insects.

Range

They can be found throughout all the United States, parts of Canada, and most of Mexico.

Other Useful Information

It is possible that the warbling vireo is made up of two separate species. The eastern and western versions of the species differ drastically; their size, bill shape, wintering areas, and molting strategies are all different between the two.
