Description

Their white bellies have heavy streaking of brown that makes a spot in the middle of the breast. This is a brown bird with some white on the face and a white throat. There is black on the wings and two white wing bars. Their tails is rusty red.

Voice

Their song is a varied series of up to 6 phrases. Their call is a chip.

Habitat

They are found in thickets, marshes, roadsides, and in gardens.

Diet

Song sparrows primarily eat fruit, invertebrates, and seeds.

Range

They are found throughout the United States and Canada.
