Description

This is a brown bird with black on their back. They have a gray head with brown around the eyes and a gray cheek patch. Their throat is black and their belly is a dingy white.

Voice

A metallic ceep, chirrup.

Habitat

They are found in human disturbed areas, such as cities and farms.

Diet

The house sparrow eats seeds and insects.

Range

House sparrows can be found in all of the lower 48 states, southern Canada and all of Mexico.

Other Useful Information

They were introduced to North America from Europe in the 1850s.
