Description

This is a kingbird-sized flycatcher. They have cinnamon wings and tail. They have a grey breast and a bright yellow belly. Great crested flycatchers have a bushy crest which they often erect.

They are in woodlands and groves.

Diet

Great crested flycatchers mainly eat insects.

Range

Great crested flycatchers are found throughout the eastern part of the United States over to the Dakotas down to Texas.

Other Useful Information

Great crested flycatchers like to have crinkly objects in their nest. Most have some snake skin, or they will have onion peels, plastic wrap, and cellophane.
