The Lower Connecticut River Basin (LCRB) manages 5 of the 9 Army Corps of Engineers flood protection dams between the New Hampshire border and Long Island Sound. These 5 dams combined have prevented an estimated $414.9 million in flood damages since construction. In addition, they provide provide public recreation for thousands of visitors each year. As for the other 4 dams in the basin, Colebrook River Lake is managed by the Naugatuck River Basin, and Conant Brook Dam is managed by the Thames River Basin. Mad River Dam and Sucker Brook Dam were built by the Army Corps of Engineers but turned over to and operated by the State of Connecticut.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers welcomes you to Barre Falls Dam located in the towns of Hubbardston, Barre, Oakham, and Rutland. Nestled within the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation (MDCR) 22,000-acre scenic Ware River Watershed, the area offers many recreational opportunities.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers welcomes you to Birch Hill Dam located on the scenic Millers River in South Royalston, Massachusetts. The park offers over 4,500 acres of public land for a multitude of recreational activities. Hiking, fishing, camping, canoeing, swimming and spring
whitewater releases for kayaking are among the popular activities.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers welcomes you to Knightville Dam. The dam and reservoir area are located in the scenic Berkshire foothills along the East Branch of the Westfield River. Most of the 2,430 acres of the Knightville Dam area is undeveloped. You may enjoy hiking, mountain biking or horseback riding along several miles of trails and old country roads. Cross country skiing and snowmobiling (limited to the west side of the river) are popular winter activities.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers welcomes you to Littleville Lake about 1 mile off Rt.112 in Huntington and Chester, Massachusetts. The 1,567 acre park offers visitors many opportunities to enjoy a variety of outdoor recreation activities.
Situated in the scenic Berkshire Hills, hikers and sightseers can enjoy wandering along the old cart roads that run on both sides of the lake. During the fall foliage season, Littleville Lake and nearby areas provide leaf peepers with many scenic vistas.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers invites you to come relax at Tully Lake. There are a variety of outdoor recreation activities for you and your family. Although the dam was built primarily to reduce flood damages on the Millers and Connecticut Rivers, the 1,300-acre reservoir area provides a place for you to get away from it all and connect with nature.
