SUMMER
PARK RANGER POSITIONS
The
US Army Corps of Engineers at Hopkinton Everett Lake is now accepting
applications for summer seasonal park ranger positions at Elm Brook Park.
Staffing is needed from
mid May through early September. If
applying under the student temporary employment program, the applicant must be
currently enrolled in college (undergraduate or graduate) and be returning for
the fall semester. Applications
will also be accepted from individuals not eligible for student employment.
Salary ranges between approximately $9 and $12 per hour (dependent upon
experience).
Major
Duties Include:
q
Assist park visitors with
questions and problems related to park operations, regulations, and / or
facilities, ensuring that park visitors have a positive recreation experience.
q
Provide formal and informal
interpretive programs on a variety of topics from water safety to the flora
and fauna of the park.
q
Staff the Elm Brook Park Ranger
Station.
q
Coordinate fee collection and
picnic shelter reservations with volunteer park hosts.
q
Monitor park facilities for
safety, quality, cleanliness, and presentation.
q
Perform minor maintenance to
park facilities and grounds.
q
Perform other duties as assigned
by work leader and/or supervisor.
Requirements:
q
Must wear a prescribed uniform
(government provided).
q
Must possess a valid motor
vehicle license.
q
Must be able to work weekends,
evenings, and holidays.
