5th Annual Boating and Water Safety Day

On Saturday May 30th the Cape Cod Canal Field Office hosted the 5th Annual Cape Cod Canal Boating and Water Safety Day. The beautiful weather brought visitors of all ages to the event.
In an effort to promote safety on the water, various local, state and federal groups offered handouts, hands-on demonstrations of equipment, fun games and activities and an opportuntiy to tour patrol boats used along the Cape Cod Canal. A special appearance by Bobber the Water Safety Dog delighted kids and adults alike. A great time was had by all.
The US Army Corps of Engineers would like to thank all who participated in this event. And we would like to extend our sincere appreciation to all the volunteers from the United States Coast Guard Station Cape Cod Canal, United States Coast Guard Auxiliary, Massachusetts Environmental Police, Cape Cod Sail and Power Squadron, Sea Scouts Ship 76, Massachusetts Maritime Academy, Sandwich Fire and Rescue, American Red Cross, The Sandwich Marina, and The Sandwich Ship Supply.

See some photos from the day, below.
