Cape Cod Canal Educational Outreach Program

Educational and recreational opportunities to be found at the Cape Cod Canal are boundless. History, natural history, commerce, social studies, mathematics, geography and maritime sciences are but a few of the topics that can be studied in a visit to the Canal. That such a unique area exists in close proximity to a number of Massachusetts towns is not lost on area educators.

Through powerpoint programs, videos and informal discussions with students, Corps of Engineers Park Rangers bring the Canal into the classroom. Our goal is to foster a greater understanding of the environmental and commercial impacts of the Canal and the Corps' role in operating this important waterway. An effective pre-site program will make a student's visit to the Canal much more meaningful.
