To make a SHELTER RESERVATION, call 1-877-444-6777 or go to www.recreation.gov. This is a national service that will better help you book your day at Buffumville Park.

To inquire about camping on the big island, call or e-mail Ken Hester @ 1-508-248-5697. Island dates fill fast. Call January 1st, no earlier than 1 minute after midnite. Leave a phone message with ALL info. We go in order recieved. If you call after January 1st, you may be out of luck.

Recreation Use Fees:

(Note: All interpretive programs and special events sponsored by the US Army Corps of Enginers are FREE!

• NO ALCOHOL at our park or boatramp.
• Boat & canoe launch - as of June, 2005, launching vessels is free.
• Swimming beach - $1.00 (over 12 yrs. old), up to $4 per vehicle*
• "Lower" picnic shelter reservation (large covered shelter which accommodates roughly 100 adults) -$70.00
• "Grove" picnic shelter reservation (octagonal covered shelter in pine grove which accommodates roughly 60 adults) -$50.00
• Electricity for both picnic shelters is free. ALL DRIVE-DOWN PERMITEES ARE ALLOWED 15 MINUTES TO LOAD OR UNLOAD! STRICTLY ENFORCED!
• Volley ball court reservation - $15.00 per 2 hours
• Horseshoe pits reservation - $15.00 per 2 hours
• Primitive camping by special use permit - $50.00 per group

*Maximum fee for swimming per day per vehicle - $4.00.

Special Events:

Minimum $50.00, but these fees vary, depending on the event. Please call or e-mail the Park Manager for more information.

Passes:

Annual Pass - $30.00 (seasonal pass to beach and launching ramp). Duplicate passes for an extra vehicle are no longer available. Your pass is now "moveable" from car to car.

Golden Age Passport - $10.00 (50% discount on use fees)

Golden Access Passport - free (50% discount on use fees)
