The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and State of Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection(DEP) welcome you to Black Rock Lake.

Opportunities for recreation at Black Rock Lake include a 21-acre recreation pool that is open seasonally for fishing and non motorized boating. Coast Guard approved life jackets are required.

The lake and brook are stocked with brown, rainbow and brook trout by the State of Connecticut. The lake also contains largemouth and smallmouth bass, pickerel, perch, bullhead and bluegill.

Reservoir lands offer the public opportunities for hunting. Refer to the Connecticut hunting guide for more information. A portion of the 35 mile long Mattatuck Blue Trail System crosses through the reservoir land.

An overlook area is provided at the top of the dam. Camping, swimming and day use activities are available at the nearby Black Rock State Park on U.S. Route 6.
