The following resources are meant to help field wetlands resource personnel identify and document hydric soils and their boundaries. These field indicators provide consistent and reliable evidence as to whether certain soil meets the definition of a hydric soil (those soils that are sufficiently wet in the upper part to develop anaerobic conditions during the growing season).
