Island End River Navigation Project

Island End River is a small tributary of the Mystic River and is located along the Chelsea/Everett city line, about two miles from downtown Boston.

The project consists of a six-foot-deep, 2,500-foot-long channel extending from the Mystic River, up Island End River, to the Admirals Hill Marina in Chelsea. The channel is 90 feet wide at its lower end and 100 feet wide at its upper end.

Island End River was completed in April 1982 as a small project under Section 107 of the Corps’ Continuing Authorities Program.
