CONCORD, Mass. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District recently issued an Architect-Engineer (A-E) General Engineering and Design Services Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (ID/IQ) contract with a contract capacity not to exceed $8 million over five years to a Cambridge, Mass., company.

The contract is to provide professional engineering and design services to be primarily performed within the boundaries of the New England District (Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Vermont and Rhode Island), but work also may be required at other locations within the boundaries of the Corps’ North Atlantic Division (New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia and the District of Columbia).

The contract was awarded to Symmes, Maini & Mckee Associates, Inc. of Cambridge, Mass., on May 27, 2016. The contract was awarded with a five-year ordering period with a total contract capacity not to exceed $8 million. Work will be issued by negotiated firm-fixed price task orders.

Work could include various engineering, design and/or construction services for projects relating to: the design of new and renovated structures; military building and site design; design of any other unique structure; sustainable design and commissioning; general site engineering; military master planning; planning and design for civil works infrastructure including projects related to the development of water resources; environmental engineering and compliance; value engineering; project scheduling; and diagnostics, assessments, site investigation and other data collection tasks for general engineering use.

A-E services that may be required include preparation of: design drawings; technical specifications; cost estimates; construction schedules; design analyses; engineering calculations; design-build requests for proposal; conceptual designs; planning studies; engineering studies and other technical reports; sustainable design/LEED project documentation; commissioning reports; value engineering studies; and other services.
