Edward MacDowell Lake in Peterborough, New Hampshire, celebrated 60 years of service and flood protection to the region, July 31, 2010. The event was attended by hundres of local residents and offered tours of the facility, historic photographs of the floods of 1936 and 1938, an exhibit on the life of Edward MadDoweel and an exhibi t on the deidation ceremony that took place on July 28, 1950 with Mrs. Marion MacDowell, accompanied by Congressman Norris Cotton and Snator Charles Tobey.
